Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have begun manufacturing, with an additional eleven getting ready to establish production lines, the defence ministry announced on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Situations

The drones will be based on a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology has been tested in combat and proved successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors daily.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy described Moscow's most recent assault on Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and wicked” following six individuals were killed and many others wounded in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv.
