Netflix Chooses Perfect Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season

Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to change into an perfect replica of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that character reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the source material and cartoon version.

Escola joins a number of fresh additions who will portray the organization to life, such as chief the main antagonist, played by the well-known actor, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.

Though Bon Clay is a major member of Baroque Works, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest further changes to the narrative framework.

Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
