Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients

Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
